Ohio Means Jobs Adams and Brown Counties staff in conjunction with DP&L (AES) has opened the DP&L Generations Transition Center at 401 Starks Avenue in Manchester, Ohio to serve the workers to be permanently laid off later this year.  The Generations Transition Center is open three days per week from 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.  It offers a computer lab and print materials related to job search, resume preparation, and training.  Ohio Means Jobs staff along with Kentucky Career Center counselors are available to assist the DP&L workers and contractors.

An Open House was held on Mar. 7th with over 100 in attendance.  Workshops and informational sessions are scheduled.  For example, a Dept. of Labor representative presented two sessions on Mar. 26th related to pensions and 401K.  Other pertinent resource professionals will be brought in to advise the workers.  Starting on April 4th, there will be weekly workshops held on Wednesdays at 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. on such topics as resume writing, using social media for your job search, interviewing, etc.
