Last week, the Kentucky Workforce Investment Board (KWIB) presented the Kentucky Career Center – Ashland with the Kentucky Career Center One Stop Certification.
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) guidelines require re-certification every three years to maintain infrastructure funding.
Our Local Workforce Development Board established a 4-member review team and followed the KWIB review process to assess the Ashland Career Center. The team consisted of Dr. Larry Ferguson, ACTC President, Tara McKnight, Marathon Petroleum, Ryan Henson, KY Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and Ron McCloud, City National Bank.
The recommendation for re-certification was made and approved by the TENCO Workforce Development Board at the February Board meeting. Our KCC – Ashland is proud to have passed the evaluation and recognized as achieving certification for having consistent, high-quality services for employers and job seekers, for having user friendly and customer-focused services, for being strategically aligned with educational and economic development, for being accountable for services and results and for having maximization of all workforce development resources.
