The TENCO Workforce Development Board recently approved $398,000.00 to support a summer employment program for 127 youth. Four proposals were received and approved to provide summer employment opportunities to eligible youth between the ages of 17 and 24.

The approved proposals included: Augusta Independent School District, Lewis County Board of Education, Maysville Community and Technical College, and Robertson County Board of Education.

Employment for the youth include both private and public placements in the following sectors construction, office/business, general labor, food service, and manufacturing. Funds for the Summer Employment Program are through the Federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, the Kentucky Division of Workforce Investment.
