MaGee’s Bakery first opened its doors in Maysville, Kentucky in 1941. For 32 years, people far and wide made MaGee’s a must stop in their travels in order to purchase transparent tarts. In 1973, Judy Dickson and her husband Ron purchased the bakery and continued the tradition for the next 46 years.
In early September, Judy and Ron Dickson agreed to sell the bakery and her recipes to Comprehend, Inc., of Maysville, Kentucky. She, along with her son Russell, agreed to stay on and help with getting the business up and running at its new location.
On Tuesday October 29, 2019, MaGee’s held a grand opening at its newly renovated facility located at 414 Market Squire, next door to Fazoli’s Restaurant.
The bakery is under the direction of Kelly Miller. Miller serves as Vice President of Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities and works with clients in baking and selling MaGee’s famous transparent tarts, along with other tasty deserts as well.
